Over the eight days of New York Fashion Week F/W 11 it was true that Ford Models saw forty-three of its models feature in womenswear shows and that one hundred womenswear shows featured Ford models. Of those one hundred shows Ford girls opened twelve and closed ten shows. Three models featured in twenty shows or more: Hanne Gaby Odiele (20), Karmen Pedaru (21), and Sigrid Agren (23). Karmen Pedaru opened the most shows (4) of any Ford model whereas Alana Zimmer did the double more than any other by opening and closing the same show twice. Alana was also at evens opening three and closing three shows. Models who opened or closed the only New York show in which they featured include Ford’s Olivia Gordon (opened Suno) and Ford Women’s Allaire Heisig (closed Marc by Marc Jacobs). Elie Tahari saw more Ford talent (14) in one show than any other — Alana also opened and closed the show.

Numbers aside New York Fashion Week F/W 11 was especially enjoyable for me as it once again gave me an opportunity to see Ford’s incredible talent literally on stage. Julia Saner and Sigrid Agren couldn’t have looked more assured than they did in their first proper runway season for Ford. Hearing personally from Alana Zimmer, Valerija Kelava, Emily Senko and other Ford models that the Ford Models Blog is a useful resource for them when it comes to keeping track of their appearances was tremendously validating. The overwhelming Ford presence in the New York shows is also a testament to the countless sleepless nights spent by Ford’s model agents — after all eighty-seven shows don’t book themselves! But, let’s not start patting ourselves on the back too enthusiastically just yet — we’re only a third of the way through the show season with Milano starting tomorrow and Paris the following week. Sorry, London, once again you were this page’s first Fashion Week casualty.
