¡El gato fuera de la bolsa! …whether or not that is an idiom with any real currency in México or is just another wooden interweb translation matters for naught and I’ll tell you why. That empty bag you’re holding, that cat running wild, well, together they are a metaphor I reckon best describes the manner in which the news broke today that Crystal Renn has landed herself the cover of Vogue México abril 2011 by photographer David Roemer — her first Vogue cover! Regresa el Neón or “neon returns” en Inglés announces the cover, the headline of which undoubtedly presented the editors with a conundrum of how to put an exclamation mark on something that is already fluorescent. That’s like trying to make the speed of light faster, which as we all know is impermissible according to the theory of relativity. The only way around this puzzle of course was to feature a red-hot Crystal Renn on the cover, which unlike bettering the speed of light actually breaks no laws of the universe. See, the neons are suddenly brighter just like that feline-free bag is now lighter.

  1. she looks……so different… from a year two when she published her book. damn, caving into the pressure's of society again, i see..

    • If you haven't already, then please watch the interview special I did with Crystal and elaborate on your thesis that Crystal Renn is "caving into the pressure's of society again." I am curious to know whether you will still maintain this line of thinking. I of course don't. She is her own person and a strong-willed woman at that and isn't the industry pawn that some commenters on the interweb are suggesting.

      Thanks.
