This page is one for surprises and especially so in the month of January right around the time when spring campaigns begin to surface.  Today’s campaign spotlight falls on newly-discovered British model Rosie Tapner (Ford) who features in the Balenciaga Spring 2012 campaign by Steven Meisel. News of this major booking was widely reported last month and is now made concrete with an actual campaign image, which below can be seen. In the portrait Rosie is seen of course wearing a look from Nicolas Ghesquière’s spring line, but is also clutching with two hands an outsize remote control. In the modest interior, presumably a bedroom, there is seen a detuned television set sitting precariously atop a radiator along with a book and some papers. A piece of sheet music hangs on a wall that intersects at a right angle to an adjacent wall with two unframed pictures. There is something disheveled and untidy about the scene, which perfectly frames the subject, Rosie Tapner, incidentally, who is now signed with Ford on Paul Rowland’s board.
