Natalie Portman’s done it, Marisa Tomei got an Oscar nomination for it, and Demi Moore earned a record-breaking paycheck for going there. The tie that binds for all these thespians? Stripping. Normally reserved for women, exotic dancer roles are something of a rite of passage in Hollywood, and now Channing Tatum (Ford Men) is joining the club. In Magic Mike, Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming stripper-pic, Tatum stars as a sweetheart by day, stripper by night with a legion of fans. Tatum’s chops are bona fide: The actor worked as a stripper in Tampa between college and fame–his nom de thong was Chan Crawford–and the experience is one he’s happy to talk about. Luckily for summer moviegoers, he’s not shy about reliving it, either.
