Makeup artist Yadim was recently appointed to the role of international makeup designer for Christian Dior. Yadim got his start in New York and after completing several runway seasons on his own landed a spot on Pat McGrath’s team where he spent a couple very important years. He has since gone on to work with top artists and publications in the industry and his latest Dior appointment is richly deserved. Donatella Versace spoke with Style.com’s Tim Blanks during a live interview at Oxford University Union in the United Kingdom this week. The occasion enabled Versace speak about the challenges she faced in the wake of her brother Gianni’s tragic murder. Those 15 intervening years have marked a tremendous period of growth for Donatella the designer, but also Versace the brand. In regard to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Donatella had a wish, “I’d put her in black – she never wears black – and add a little leather, maybe.
