Julia Nobis (Ford) features in a newly launched online magazine Fino File photographed by Terry Tsiolis. Before your eyes glaze over from reading in succession the words online and magazine, understand that its founder and editor Filipa Fino is formerly of Vogue.com and with her comes a wealth of experience concerning the digital-print divide in fashion publication. Although Fino isn’t the first to attempt this feat, her online magazine nevertheless seeks to bridge this often perilous divide. The 136-page Spring / Summer 2012 issue boasts top shelf creative contributors including the aforementioned Tsiolis and an eye-catching layout that would make her erstwhile employer envious. Fino spoke with Models.com fashion and beauty editor Janelle Okwodu about the inaugural issue. [Models.com]

Christian Brylle (Ford Men) journeyed to Coachella 2012 carrying his Canon 5D Mark III, snapped some pictures on the inside of his closest model friends, was then shown the door by security for having the temerity to use a professional-looking camera, and promptly reentered the festival through another entrance…all in the space of five minutes! OK, that timeline is admittedly compressed, but the facts are more or less true. For his troubles, V Magazine has published a slide show on their Web site of Christian’s photographs from the weekend along with some Jim Morrison lyrics from “L’America.” [V Magazine]

Betsey Johnson LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the result of which will precipitate closure of the designer’s 63 freestanding stores and likely dismissal 350 staffers. Despite the designer’s recent personal successes that include a new reality TV series, Johnson’s LLC was facing cash-flow problems that were making obligations to its creditors increasingly difficult to fulfill. Defiant, Johnson insists restructuring will make her brand stronger. “I feel so sad for my store people and all my pink girls. They live and die for me. But I need to be better. I really need to work well and be more efficient.” [WWD]

Santigold’s sophomore album Master of My Make-Believe (Atlantic) can be streamed in its entirety via National Public Radio’s Web site NPR.org. Earlier in the week Santi friend and collaborator Diplo tweeted the link to the album, which has since all but taken over playlists at the agency. The album comes out Tuesday, May 1. [NPR]
