Crystal Renn stars in yet another arresting short film, the latest is by Santiago & Mauricio for Interview titled “Two36.” This graphic short comes on the heels of Crystal’s video cameo for Gareth Pugh Spring 2012, which was the talking point for day two of Paris Fashion Week. Readers will recall this photography duo having memorably trained their sights on Ford Men’s Evandro Soldati in “Cruel Summer” not to mention Paolo Anchisi and Ethan James in a video before him. Hanne Gaby knows a thing or twenty about hair and gives Style.com but a taste of her knowledge gleaned from the hundreds of hours spent getting hers done for the runway. [Style.com]

Suzy Menkes muses on Carine Roitfeld and the publication of the erstwhile Vogue Paris editor’s new 368-page volume Irreverent, published by Rizzoli. Roitfeld’s approach isn’t everyone’s cuppa to be certain, but there is no denying the woman’s profound ability to create lasting images. Tom Ford’s Gucci revival of the 1990s wouldn’t quite have been the same without her. [NYTimes.com]

Lars von Trier‘s new film Melancholia starring Kirsten Dunst won’t be in domestic cinemas until November 11, but in the mean time it can be rented via the iTunes Store beginning today. If that seems counterintuitive, then bear in mind this is the same filmmaker who vowed this week to never again speak to the press. [iTunes Store]
