There was a bit of Twitter-induced hubbub early Sunday evening surrounding a certain Raf Simons to Yves Saint Laurent speculative comment made by Suzy Menkes in her Jil Sander Spring 2012 review for The New York Times. W fashion and style editor Edward Enninful tweeted that Menkes in fact had “broken” news of a move, but upon a reread of the original review by the fashion editor of The International Herald Tribune, it is clear that Menkes actually was speculating (clue, she begins the review with “if”).
