Designer Joseph Altuzarra last night was given a massive boost by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Vogue. Altuzarra was named winner of the CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund Prize to the tune of $300,000. Runners-up Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind each received $100,000. The money is no doubt welcome, but the prestige that accompanies the honor not to mention the solid business mentoring is priceless. Since the program’s beginning in 2004, 21 design companies including Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, and Proenza Schouler have in total been granted $2.3 million. [Vogue.com]
