Festival de Cannes 2012 concluded Sunday evening in France with Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke’s Amour claiming the Palme d’Or. Haneke also took top honor in 2009 for his film The White Ribbon, thereby joining just five other directors to have won the prize twice. Amour tells the story of an elderly Parisian couple played by Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva who are slowly preparing for death. [Guardian]
