Karmen Pedaru (Ford) closed the Gucci Fall 2012 show this afternoon at Piazza Oberdan, 2/B in Milan. Designer Frida Giannini described the darkly romantic collection as being “structured, soft, colorful and playful.” These qualities were evident in the 48 runway looks that drew upon the varying strengths of velvet, jacquard, brocade, and tulle. Sigrid Agren (Ford), Alana Zimmer (Ford), and Carolina Thaler (Ford Women) also featured. [T Magazine]

V has joined YouTube. Before anyone snipes about the time it took the groundbreaking magazine to join the streaming video jamboree that was started back in 2005, they ought to do themselves a solid and check out Visionaire cofounder Cecilia Dean‘s playlist. Clocking in at just under an hour the collection of nine videos spans the gamut from Christian Marclay’s “Telephones” (1995) compilation to a recent studio visit artist Ryan McNamara. John Pawson, the architect behind the Calvin Klein Collection Madison Avenue flagship store, a veritable cathedral to minimalism, spoke with Nowness about a forthcoming photography monograph titled A Visual Inventory to be published by Phaidon. Pawson’s photographs of rich landscapes and busy patterns draw a marked contrast with his architecture that emphasizes light, material and proportion. [Nowness]
