The London Spring 2013 menswear shows concluded yesterday and notable was the return of Aiden Andrews (Ford Men). The New Zealand-born model turned up for James Long, Topman, and Jonathan Saunders (pictured) amongst others. For the latter Aiden wore a chic, double-breasted pinstripe suit, the pattern of which was printed rather than sewn, that was straight out of David Bowie’s plastic soul phase. This look aside, Saunders made characteristic deft use of color inspired by Hungarian op artist Victor Vasarely. Expect to see more of Aiden in Milan and Paris later this month. [Style.com]

Meet Danny Carr, VMAN MODEL SEARCH FINALIST (shouty still, yes). The 21-year-old Wales native currently resides in Florida and for a long time has set his sights on modeling. “I’ve had passion for becoming a model since the 4th grade. I was asked what I would like to do when I grow up and I walked up and down a classroom in front of all the other pupils! People laughed at me back then, but I just knew it was my destiny to model at some point in my life.” [VMAN]

Fakes are a fact of fashion. Fake model Twitters and Facebooks breed like mosquitos. The same is also true for counterfeit luxury leather goods. Following a lengthy year-long investigation French authorities busted a counterfeit ring that was producing fake Hermès bags. The elaborate ring that was aided in part by two Hermès employees who have since been dismissed consisted of underground workshops and a parallel distribution network through Europe, the U.S., and Asia. The ring’s value has been estimated at around $22 million. This development undoubtedly begs the question, was Francesca Eastwood burning the real thing? [WWD]

Late in Helmut Newton’s career and life he took on three young assistants from California who had boldly approached him following a tip the master photographer would be dropping by a Pasadena boutique. Those assistants, photographers Mark Arbeit, George Holz and Just Loomis, pay tribute to their former mentor in a new a short film from their exhibition called Three Boys from Pasadena, which is showing at the Williamson Gallery of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, until 26 August. [Nowness]
