Milan Menswear fashion week begins tomorrow showcasing esteemed collections—like Burberry, Versace, Prada, Marc Jacobs, and Alexander McQueen—that pave the way for fall womenswear predictions. The Spring 2013 shows kick off at 10 AM CET with all eyes on Jil Sander since her (third) return to the label she founded. [Vogue.co.uk]
Though London Collections: Men just concluded and the anticipation of Milan’s Pitti Uomo burgeons, it doesn’t trivialize the foresight of July’s couture. How about a bit of both simultaneously? Rad Hourani will debut the first ever unisex haute couture collection for his namesake label next month in Paris. Known for his gender-bending ready to wear, we’re anxious to see how the young designer’s aesthetic will translate in couture. [RadHourani.com]
Affirming earlier speculation, Condé Nast International has announced that Vogue Thailand will join it’s globetrotting roster in 2013. Set to launch in print and digital the magazine will be headed by former Elle Thailand editor-in-chief Kullawit Laosuksir. Vogue Thailand marks the 21st worldwide version of the publication. Gaming is the next development on the digital horizon for the fashion industry. Fashion Week Live, partnered with DKNY, will launch an interactive gaming experience exclusive to Facebook in hopes of generating engagement like popular antecedents FarmVille and The Sims Social. Users will get to style their own campaigns and produce runway shows with an upgrade in wardrobe (and apartment!) as incentive to advance. Count us in for the trial but please spare the Facebook notifications. [WWD.com]
