From her reign as Miss Teen Wisconsin 2004 to being the unexpected highlight of last summer’s Chelsea Art Walk, Myla Dalbesio (Ford+) is no stranger to stagecraft. Her piece “Young Money” shocked and enthralled New York’s art set last August, earning her a mention in The New York Times and the hum of ongoing buzz. In it, a nearly nude Dalbesio conducted ritualistic lap dances for stunned viewers, but the formally trained dancer’s oeuvre encompasses more than performance art.

Schooled by her grandfather in lithography, collage, and copper etching, Dalbesio honed her talents with a fine-arts degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since deciding in 2010 to focus more energy on her craft, the multidisciplinary artist has produced singular works in sculpture, photography, and video.
