Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013 hit the runway yesterday and featured models Grace Mahary (Ford), Anais Mali (Ford), Antonia Wesseloh (Ford), Andie Arthur (Ford), and Emily Senko (Ford). Social commerce pedal to the metal, a green and white silk sequin baseball T-shirt with a gingham skirt in billowy tulle and organza that last night debuted reportedly will be available for immediate pre-order on TheFancy.com. Yves Saint Laurent will limit the presentation of its Resort 2013 and Menswear Spring 2013 collections by their new creative director Hedi Slimane to buyers only. International press will not get a look at Slimane’s efforts for YSL until he debuts his women’s spring collection in late September in Paris. The French house has described the resort and menswear collections to be shown this summer as “transitional.” That noise? It is the sound of a thousand editors, bloggers, and lesser keyboard warriors taking to the interweb to cry foul. [WWD]
Gucci has won its trademark infringement case against Guess, though is likely to recover far less than the $120 million it had been seeking. U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin ruled that Guess infringed some of the trademarks held by Gucci and granted the Italian house an injunction against Guess to produce three of the four challenged designs. El-P’s new album Cancer4Cure was released today on Fat Possum Records. Pitchfork gave it an 8.5 along with its “best new music” seal. Wonderland called it their album of the week. VMAN even went so far as to say it cures culture. Any record that has music heads and fashion folk alike talking is worth a listen. [iTunes Store]
