Alana Zimmer (Ford) closed Peter Pilotto Fall 2012 yesterday morning in London at the TS Venue. The print-heavy collection evidently was inspired in part by recent trips designers Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto took to Asia. As such Japanese light trucks and Chinese opera masks amongst others provided the impetus behind the collection’s print schema. Ming Xi (Ford), Andie Arthur (Ford), and Karolina Wąż (Ford) also featured. [Style.com]
Jonathan Saunders spoke with Simon Chilvers of the Guardian ahead of the Glaswegian-born designer’s Fall 2012 show. In the video interview set in Saunders’s studio, the designer discusses many of the inspirations behind his fall collection including Japanese-style print and sharp tailoring. On Sunday evening, Antonia Wesseloh (Ford) closed the show. Cora Emmanuel (Ford Women), Andie Arthur (Ford), Hanne Gaby (Ford), Lara Mullen (Ford), Daiane Conterato (Ford), and Julia Nobis (Ford) also featured. [Guardian]
Juergen Teller spoke with artist TJ Wilcox on a Manhattan rooftop in a raw video soliloquy for Nowness. The German master candidly shares his thoughts on his craft, his love of the body, and his utter bemusement over tattoos (“I’m so pretty [without tattoos]“). [Nowness]
Santigold has a YouTube channel and is used it to share a new animated (more GIF than Phantasia) video for the single “Disparate Youth.” Stream the song on YouTube or purchase it at the iTunes Store, either way Santi is back! [Hypebeast]
