The newly platinum blonde Crystal Renn (Ford) stepped out into the evening Tuesday with friends Zac Posen and Coco Rocha (Wilhelmina). The occasion, a charitable spring dance hosted by New Yorkers for Children and CD Greene, saw Crystal decked out in a Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012 moss green and feather embroidered gown. On the night, Crystal’s hair was styled by Francky L’Official (Ford Artists), incidentally who also exquisitely colored it. Raf Simons spoke with WWD on the occasion of his Christian Dior appointment and cautioned those holding the view that he is strictly a minimalist. “I don’t think it’s wrong to call me a minimalist. It’s wrong to call me a minimalist only,” explained the Belgian designer. “I am also a romantic person.” This romanticism, Simons promised, will hasten his embrace of Dior’s core principle, femininity, just as he had previously done with purism for Jil Sander. Simons is set to arrive in Paris today to begin designing his first Dior collection, the winter couture collection to be shown in July. [WWD]
