Prada, never a house found wanting for publicity, has thrown down the bejeweled, digital gauntlet in the forthcoming issue of Arena Homme+ by outfitting characters of the video game Final Fantasy XIII-2. To mark the Final Fantasy franchise’s 25th anniversary leading virtual personalities Lighting, Noel, Snow will swap their battles skins for sporty looks from the Prada Menswear Spring 2012 collection. Whether or not this editorial outing by Prada will encourage gamers to change out of their pajamas and leave the basement of their childhood homes is another matter entirely. [WSJ]

Guess Inc.’s chief executive officer Paul Marciano took the stand yesterday in defense of his brand against allegations of trademark infringements by Gucci. The lawsuit filed by Gucci in federal court in Manhattan accuses Guess of a wide-ranging scheme that has involved knocking off its diamond logo “G” pattern as well as its tri-striped design. Marciano denied the charges saying Guess simply drew inspiration from many brands including the plaintiff’s. Gucci is seeking $211 million in damages. [WWD]

Hunger Games superfans across the land were put on high alert with the announcement that the abandoned North Carolina mill town of Henry River Mill Village is up for sale by its owner for $1.4 million. Several scenes from the blockbuster were filmed on the 72 acre property, which was has been uninhabited since 1987. Since the film’s debut last month scores of tourists have flocked to the location prompting the owner Wade Shepherd to take action and once and for all sell the place. “Day and night, they’re driving through, taking pictures, getting out and walking. I’m just bombarded with people.” [Guardian]
