Sigrid Agren (Ford) is given the model-morphosis treatment by photographer Greg Kessler backstage at Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Fall 2012 in Paris. With a simple right-to-left movement of a vertical slider, makeup by Stephane Marais and hair by Odile Gilbert transforms Sigrid into the runway apotheosis of Jean Paul Gaultier’s latest couture collection. Alana Zimmer (Ford) also featured in this show, which rather scandalously began some 90 minutes behind schedule. [T Magazine]
Over the Independence Day holiday in the States Paris exploded with haute couture collection after collection not least of which included Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy Couture Fall 2012 presentation. Cora Emmanuel (Ford Women) and Grace Mahary (Ford) were amongst select complement of models (ten only) who presented the exquisitely constructed garments. [Style.com]
This page would be remiss were it not to mention the Valentino Couture Fall 2012 show, which amongst other models featured Julia Nobis (Ford), Sigrid Agren (Ford), Cora Emmanuel (Ford Women), Antonia Wesseloh (Ford), Hanne Gaby (Ford), and Lara Mullen (Ford). Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli reportedly all but bypassed daywear for evening looks. [WWD]
Old Man Gloom’s NO, their first full length record in eight years, has been named album of the week by Stereogum. Two years ago this page spoke with founding member and ever prolific Aaron Turner during the farewell tour of his group Isis. In the intervening years Turner has spread his creative wings even wider giving flight to this excellent album and more. [Stereogum]
