Stella McCartney is known for her somewhat unorthodox presentations, staging in various Lower Manhattan locations in recent seasons. The setting for the designer’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection was no exception. Alana Zimmer (Ford), Anais Mali (Ford), Andie Arthur (Ford), Antonia Wesseloh (Ford), Emily Senko (Ford), Erjona Ala (Ford), Julia Nobis (Ford), and Ming Xi (Ford) Monday night could be seen wearing pieces from McCartney’s latest collection for a presentation in the West Village restaurant One If by Land, Two If by Sea at 17 Barrow Street. Marc Jacobs will not be moving to Christian Dior, but on March 9th the ten-time CFDA Fashion Award winner will be opening a major exhibition at Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris called “Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs.” The expansive, two-floor showing will catalogue the American’s 15 years at the creative helm for the storied luxury goods company. As for sticking with Vuitton, Jacobs responded, “There is so much more left to do and building Louis Vuitton into a fashion company is something nobody else can say they really started.” [Telegraph]
