Adrien Sahores (Ford Men), Adrian Bosch (Ford Men), and John Hein (Ford Men) yesterday at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy gave the world a taste of the menswear feast awaiting this weekend in Milan with their runway appearances for Valentino Menswear Spring 2013. This collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli brought the exacting precision of the pair’s couture acumen to bear on otherwise sporty looks. Polo shirts and sneakers were the order for the day, realized in luxurious detail. “We believe that couture is a culture,” Piccioli told Style.com, “a culture that you can translate to all categories, men’s, too. It’s more masculine in a way, this obsession about the detail inside.” [Style.com]
Hedi Slimane is reportedly planning a name change of Yves Saint Laurent. Less than a quarter of a year into Slimane’s creative directorship of the storied French house WWD has learned that the name will be changed from Yves Saint Laurent to Saint Laurent Paris. Slimane has been entrusted with “total creative responsibility for the brand image and all its collections” and as such is going straight for jugular with the switch. Bold as it sounds, a move of this sort is not uncommon following similar streamlining at Chanel and Dior in recent years. [WWD]
Rafael Lazzini (Ford Men), one of our favorite tattooed Brazilians, features in a new Western-themed shoot by photographer Rodrigo Calazans. Of the five pictures posted exclusively on the Made in Brazil blog only one of the shots features Rafael wearing a shirt, which is an circuitous way of describing the series as hot. [Made in Brazil]
