In case you were either brushing up on sustainable farming practices in Chile’s Antofagasta Region or dozing through last night’s C-SPAN2 programming and in turn missed the annual extravaganza of bejeweled modesty otherwise known as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on the CBS Television Network, then you are in luck. What the house of Dior lacks in a creative director, they have in their first-ever pop-up shop, which opened this week in Miami’s Design District. No doubt timed to coincide with Art Basel Miami Beach, the 3,100-square-foot replete with a brightly camouflage-colored food truck out front is sure to attract plenty of attention and maybe even a new design maestro. And speaking of Dior, the house has put out a coffee table volume titled Dior Couture published by Rizzoli. Featuring photographs by Patrick Demarchelier and others, the book spans the house’s decades of haute couture. [New York Times]
