The first of the Fall 2012 campaigns have already begun to surface and a careful selection of the season’s collections are given a proper editorial airing in the July 2012 Vogue Italia cover story by photographer Steven Meisel and fashion stylist Karl Templer. Julia Nobis (Ford) and Erjona Ala (Ford), who together walked a staggering 129 shows during the Fall 2012 runway season, lend their considerable editorial nous to the proceedings. A spare set designed by Mary Howard provides a suitable blank canvas on which to project the coming season’s most intriguing collections. The fold-out cover portrait (Slide 1) features Julia and Erjona as well as a select few of the top new faces together swinging on a swingset wearing the blackest evening gowns in embroidered tulle or silk georgette from the Gucci Fall 2012 line. Page ahead (Slide 7) and Julia and Erjona are pictured to the right of the frame holding mirrored panels wearing Prada suits. In the dead of July this collections story provides a glimpse of the season to come and if its pages are any indicator, then the fall forecast will include plenty of Julia Nobis and Erjona Ala.
