Yesterday Kate King‘s portrait was pulled from the collapsed house of cards that is the fashion editorial of Dossier Issue 7 2011. By “collapsed” I of course mean the nine different shoots by nine different creative teams that have been delightfully mixed together like some crazed finger painting that turns all paint colors into brown. Today, however there are a few more face cards to pull from this mixed metaphor mangle in the shape of Ford’s Karlina Caune, who appears photographed by Scott Trindle. In keeping with the basic studio, no props guidelines, Trindle makes exceptional use of minimal lighting against a black backdrop to really make these Gillian Wilkins-styled looks pop. How better to pop than with that immediately recognizable red leather floral print jacket by Miu Miu, which Karlina wears along with camouflage Republic shorts, Simon Harris necklaces, and an Hermès bracelet. The hair by Yumi Nakada-Dingle of course recalls the young Latvian model’s Teddy boy bouffant from her French Revue de Modes story by Thierry Le Gouès last fall. All told, these portraits of Karlina Caune look like a winning hand when laid out in succession.
