This just in…interweb steals print’s thunder! Well, OK, there’s not even a shred of a story in an opener that could only be less breaking were it a hardboiled egg covered in bubble wrap inside of a bouncy castle in low earth orbit. This is of course an elaborate way saying that a Vogue Paris juin / juillet 2011 editorial featuring Ford’s Karmen Pedaru photographed by Cédric Buchet surfaced, get this, on a message board (the temerity!) before the actual issue was en le kiosque le 26 mai. Then again, I for one am not going to look this digital gift horse in the kisser so long as it is serving up Greek delicacies such as this Anastasia Barbieri-styled story titled “Bleu paradis.” The editorial opens with the Estonian wearing a one-piece strapless swimsuit in draped stretch microfiber by Norma Kamali. Complementing the swimsuit are hoops and necklace by Vestaleo and cuffs made from hammered brass and gilded with fine gold from the Ruban collection by Hervé Van Der Straeten. The paradisal blue theme culminates with Karmen wearing a blue tunic and long pleated skirt by Haider Ackermann, gold belt and gladiator sandals in gold and leather by Salvatore Ferragamo, and various bling by Bulgari, Lydia Courteille, and Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. When all is said and done, oh, and reblogged, the interweb can have its thunder so long as the lightning is all Karmen Pedaru’s.
