A month ago I waxed lyrical about the Chinese microblogging service called Sina Weibo. That service alone breaks more covers of Vogue服饰与美容 (literally “Vogue Fashion and Beauty”), what the West calls Vogue China, than even the excellent tFS Forums could ever dream. Last month in particular Weibo first made public the Vogue China August 2011 cover featuring Ford’s Ming Xi photographed by Daniel Jackson. Today, however Weibo has gone one better by serving a peach of a Vogue China September 2011 cover featuring, wait for it, Ming Xi photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Ming appears alongside the industry’s top Chinese models Du Juan, Su Hei, Fei Fei Sun, Liu Wen, and Shu Pei, all of whom wear Gucci. This cover celebrates the sixth anniversary of the Chinese edition of Vogue and marks Ming Xi’s third along with her September 2010 cover.
