To say nail art has taken over the beauty scene is putting it lightly. We are not really sure how and where art for nails became the “it” accessory, but between decals, wraps, nail tattoos and magnetic nail polish, we bid adieu to the solid color.
A new generation of manicurist has also come to life with this trend, allowing them to unleash their inner artist. Ford Chicago Manicurist, Andrea Fulerton, is one of these talented individuals, spending the past 15 years as a passionate and super sought after nail guru.
She’s painted the nails of celebs such as Sienna Miller, Kiera Knightly and even HRH Princess Beatrice, was the Revlon Nail Care Expert for over two years heading up their monthly nail bar in Central London, has judged the British Professional Beauty awards, is the nail care expert for Elle and has hand-picked and trained nail teams creating nail looks for Versace and Alexander McQueen.
But wait, there’s more (yes, we’re serious). Back in 2010, the British artist launched a nail boutique selling products from basic topcoat to nail gemstones, dot pens, glitter puffs and her very own blend of colors. It’s almost as if Fulerton heard the calls of nail art lovers around the world for a product line to help kick their boring nails to the curb.
Having such a brilliant nail tech amongst us at Ford Models, we feel very privileged, not to mention we have no trouble figuring what our next mani will be, so we decided who better than to introduce a little beauty and art to the fall 2013 trends?
Starting today, we will feature a runway inspired manicure from Andrea Fulerton on the Ford Models Chicago and Ford Models Facebook and Instagram pages each Monday. So ladies, grab your nail polish remover because it’s time to bring a little British nail love to those fingers of yours.
Our first post draws inspiration from Alexander McQueen’s fall couture runway show (look 5 above) which you can see here.
