In the world of fashion, it’s not often that dads get their due credit. In anticipation of Father’s Day, we asked our models to share what they learned from the men that raised them. At the end of the day fathers know best, and even dads deserve a moment in the spotlight. Here, Ford Chicago’s Leah weighs in on hers.
WHAT IS YOUR DAD’S STYLE?
My father is by far the best dressed person I have ever known. The process he goes through to get dressed every morning is practically ceremonial. Each Hermes tie, cufflink, and pinstripe suit has been thoughtfully chosen and paired to create the perfect ensemble. His style is the Wall Street power suit with a touch of unmatched personal flare.
WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOUR DAD EVER GAVE YOU?
The importance of comfortable durable walking shoes and to always, always read and reread emails before you send them.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MEMORY WITH YOUR DAD?
The best memories I have with my dad come from of our constant addiction, appreciation, and unparalleled love for southern BBQ. It has now become our tradition to road trip, overindulge in and judge the best brisket and ribs the US has to offer. No matter how silly and small- I like to think it’s the little thing that just him and I share. We even drive 15 hours for Coppers in Ft. Worth Texas- it’s no joke!
WHO IS YOUR DAD’S FAVORITE MUSICIAN OR WHAT IS HIS FAVORITE SONG?
Hands down his favorite musician is George Straight. No debate there.
HOW HAS YOUR DAD AFFECTED WHO YOU ARE TODAY?
For anyone who has met my father and I it is pretty clear that the apple pretty much barely fell of the tree. My father has worked everyday of his life to give me the best the world has to offer. From education to constant support there is nothing my dad hasn’t done that hasn’t had a tremendous and profound affect on my life. I would never be able to live out my dreams and travel the world without him. He even came into Ford with me to sign my first modeling contract!
