Generally the wait for any latest issue of Vogue Paris to arrive in New York is one of fashion’s many irritants. Waiting for this October issue of Vogue Paris is the closest thing to water torture the Ford Models Blog has experienced in the last ten days. We cannot wait any longer and are going to forego the formality of actually having issue in hand to write this because the pictures of Crystal Renn are sooo good. Hyperbole, maybe, but with all due respect after looking at upward of a couple hundred shows this season editorial portraits as rich as Crystal’s are a veritable oasis in the desert that is show season.

Crystal Renn features in two editorials, the first titled “Bal Masqué” celebrates the ninetieth anniversary of Vogue Paris and is shot in black and white by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott with styling by Carine Roitfeld. To the masquerade ball Crystal wears a nun’s habit and suggestively makes a heart with her hands down, well, there. The second editorial, a solo story, titled “Festin” is photographed by Terry Richardson and again styled by Carine Roitfeld with no expense spared for jewelry or catering. To call this feast of a shoot cheeky would be a gross understatement. Crystal takes the chatter of the last half year in stride and as you can see has a lot of fun in the process. She doesn’t so much acknowledge the elephant in the room as she devours it. And why not? Crystal’s having the time of her life this show season walking in New York for Z Spoke by Zac Posen S/S 11 and in Paris for Zac Posen S/S 11 with more to follow… .
