Frankly speaking nearly any story involving fashion editor and stylist Nicola Formichetti is worthy of mention not least because of his multiply held creative directing and fashion editing roles for Dazed & Confused and Vogue Hommes Japan. Formichetti’s work as a stylist for brands Uniqlo, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and the odd pop star is a testament his currency in the world of fashion. It is Formichetti’s styling pedigree that the Ford Models Blog has in mind every next issue of Vogue Hommes Japan that it opens and none more so than the current issue that features Ford Men’s Eric Watts photographed by Brett Lloyd. Titled “Watch Yourself” the story pictures 6’0″ (183 cm) Nassau County native wearing nothing more than wristwatches by Cartier and Chanel that fetch moderate sums of ¥644,700 ($7,930.57) and ¥735,000 ($9,041.37) respectively. Formichetti handles with aplomb the potential banana skin of minimal styling by tackling it directly and thus according rightful prominence to both timepiece and model.
