When the Ford Models Blog picked up the November 2010 issue of Harper’s Bazaar it instinctively blazed to the back for the editorials not least of which include Ford Men’s CJ Hancock and in the process missed a very important bit of text on page 198. Laid out amongst the cosmetic product stills, celebrity and runway cut-outs underneath the heading Best Beauty reads the following inset text:
BEAUTY BLACK BOOK
Sick of the salon? Call Ford Artists by Appointment (212) 343-5604 and the top stylists A-listers like Kate Moss and Kate Hudson use will come to you. Hairstylists, makeup artists, manicurists, and even wardrobe stylists are available in New York, Chicago, and Miami.
Sure enough, Ford Artists struck again and not for the first time. It so happens that during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 11 Ford Artists in collaboration with L’Oreal Paris conducted a beauty suite at the Hudson Hotel on 58 St. at 9 Ave. to provide much needed respite to magazine editors, creative directors, and other industry insiders. As it turns out this one-off event is but a part of a larger initiative by Ford Artists called Ford Artists by Appointment that connects A-listers with Johnny Lavoy, Julien Farel, Shannon Grey Williams, and an entire roster of hairstylists, makeup artists, manicurists, wardrobe stylists, set designer, and even photographers.
With the 68th Golden Globe® Awards less than three months away let this entry serve as advance notice so that you can indeed meet Ford Artists by Appointment. Until then keep an eye out for the forthcoming December 2010 issue of Vogue wherein readers will be offered a special package of hair, makeup, and eyebrow shaping for $600 just in time for the holidays.
