Happy New Year, dear readers. Normally we’d wait until the agency officially opens Monday, but here’s a campaign that we can’t keep in the cupboard for another 24 hours. Let’s get straight into it, then. Having presented three looks including a closer in Milan late September for Gucci one certainly could have counted Ford’s Karmen Pedaru as an odds-on favorite to land the spring campaign. As even money goes Karmen has not disappointed and as such features in this campaign by storied photography duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. Bathed in warm light underneath concrete embankments the 5’10″ (178 cm) Estonian confidently models the spring 2011 look replete with intricate details by Gucci creative director Frida Giannini. In the coming months we will look forward to seeing Karmen Pedaru in this campaign at the front of the magazines we purchase, but until then we’ll enjoy this teaser image and hope you do too.
