With the clock running down on Carine Roitfeld‘s tenure at Vogue Paris the Ford Models Blog is going to savor every moment until full-time is called. There’s one more issue in the offing for the soon-to-be erstwhile editor-in-chief so I’ll dispense with any further eulogizing and instead call attention to the jewelry story featuring Ford’s Karmen Pedaru by photographer Paola Kudacki and fashion editor Véronique Didry. If you have ever admired the Estonian’s figure in all its Olympian perfection on the countless runways of New York, Milan, and Paris, then seeing Karmen in cornrows by James Pecis looking all manner of badass can be equally appreciated. Karmen’s bejeweled insouciance certainly has a little Mr. T about it, but all the same the styling preposterousness of wearing all that bling is a feat that only she could achieve with grace and poise. Were I to recount in detail all that Karmen’s wearing in each and every one of her shots then I might be transcribing until the day that Emmanuelle Alt leaves Vogue Paris. Suffice it to say the pieces are all well expensive and are inadvisable to be worn all at once in the manner shown…unless of course you’re Karmen Pedaru.
