Espresso or caffé as it is simply known in Italy is brewed by forcing nearly boiling water under high pressure through finely ground coffee beans. The result is both simple and refined and yet packs a punch of which other coffee styled beverages could only dream. The same is likewise true for the seven days of Milan Fashion Week, which in practice are more like six when one looks past the periphery and considers the concentration of shows. Compared to the eight days of New York and Paris, Milan gets right to it, pronto. To daisy-chain this metaphor even further, the same is also true of our models walking the runways of the Italian fashion capital.

There were 25 models between Ford and Ford Women that featured in shows at Milan Fashion Week. Two seasons ago it was Karmen Pedaru who topped Milan and the Estonian’s rich vein of form continued this season in which she featured in 13 shows, three shows of which she opened including for D&G, Moschino, and Roberto Cavalli. Sigrid Agren made her return to the runway also walking in 13 shows, which included a Versace closer. Truly ubiquitous, however was Kate King who topped runway appearances for Ford Models by putting in shifts for 15 shows. Four different models opened shows including Karolina Wąż, Ruby Jean Wilson, Karmen Pedaru, and Ford Women’s Cora Emmanuel. Six different models including Alana Zimmer, Daiane Conterato, Kate Kosushkina, Sigrid Agren, Valerija Kelava, and again, Cora Emmanuel closed shows. Finally, five models including Julia Nobis, Karmen Pedaru, Kate King, Kate Kosushkina, and Sigrid Agren reached double digits with their Milanese runway appearances. Numbers aside, though the presiding image of the season is Ford Models on the march and today…à Paris.
