Paul Rowland‘s board can be described in many ways, but V captures it most succinctly with the term “powerhouse.” Such is the ferocity with which power flows through the offices in the 18th floor penthouse at 57 W 57 that it features in the forthcoming V74 along with a series of Polaroids by Salvatore Morale and a brief Q&A session.  [V]

Ford’s Julia Nobis features in the forthcoming issue of V as a part of story which speaks to four different designers about their model muses. In the case of Julia, her nomination by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler is no surprise. Designers breathed new life into a staid menswear staple this season. The loafer, long-beloved by academics, granddads, and men in smoking jackets, is having a renaissance among the fairer sex. A Cleopatra micro-trend emerged on Spring’s runway, proving that the sway of history’s sultriest sovereign on fashion has in no way decreased since 46 BC. At Lanvin, Alber Elbaz twisted bejeweled snakes around his hourglass frocks, and the models at Topshop Unique worked gilded hair and hieroglyph nails (not to mention a reverential sweatshirt). The violet-eyed beauty most associated with Cleo is having a mini-moment herself: Strong-browed girls à la Elizabeth Taylor stormed the catwalks, and Kate Winslet channeled the starlet on the cover of V.
