Ford Artists stylist Yahaira Familia sends us her notes from the New York Fashion Week trenches. Here, she catches up with designer pals Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra.

Costello Tagliapietra was the first fashion show I attended in my early days of styling, and I knew it wouldn’t be the last. A mysterious and classical quality always makes its mark in Jeffrey and Robert’s collections, and this is why I remain such a loyal fan.

For Fall 2012, Ford’s Daiane Conterato–with her archetypal yet distinct and enigmatic opening look–was the perfect opener for the season. When I caught up with the designers backstage, I asked them who is their ultimate It-girl. “Charlize Theron,” they both said without hesitation. “Her intriguing personality embodies what we look for in the models we cast.” True to their word, I definitely saw a bit of Charlize in the spectacular drape neck gown right before the finale. -Yahaira Familia
