Paris Fashion Week kicked off today, and featured some great accessories from Dries Van Noten and Rochas.

Van Noten’s Spring collection was a parade of split personalities. The designer cleverly blended artisanal and slick, featuring macramé-trimmed linen jackets alongside crisp fabrics printed with techie photos of twinkling urban lights. The shoes had similar double personae. They’re a perfect marriage of chunky and delicate, with a thick heel for grounding, and two or three thin straps around the front that nearly disappeared on the leg, for a feminine, elongating effect. Put these on your shopping list for Spring, and you won’t need much more in the way of footwear.

Over at Rochas, designer Marco Zanini worked Spring’s ’50s trend, but these miniature pouchette bags felt thoroughly up-to-the-minute. They came in neutrals, brights, metallics, worn cross-body, or—our favorite—clasped in the hand along with a wispy chiffon scarf.
