It’s clear the moment that Ford Image’s Hailey Baldwin walks in the room that she’s a dancer – she carries her tall, lithe frame with a certain grace that can only come from years of training. In a special video for the blog, Hailey shows off her refined moves and striking beauty. In between takes, we talked with the model about her passion for dance, designer fashion and what her ideal superpower would be.
Watch the video and read our interview with Hailey below.
Ford Models: When did you start dancing and why do you enjoy it? Do you still dance often?
Hailey Baldwin: I’ve been dancing for 12 years, and I started when I was 5. It’s something that’s a passion of mine, and I really love it. I couldn’t imagine my life without dance. Even though I don’t dance as much anymore, I’ll always continue it as a hobby.
FM: Do you consider yourself to be naturally graceful and do you think dancing has helped you with your modeling career?
HB: I’m not naturally graceful, but dance has helped me in so many ways, with modeling being one of them. I’m able to move differently and bring different styles to the table.
FM: Pick one – Black Swan, Step Up or Save The Last Dance.
HB: Black Swan for sure.
FM: What are some of your other hobbies?
HB: In my spare time I like to act. I love theatre. One thing a lot of people don’t know about me is that I’m obsessed with Broadway musicals and I trained for about 7 years in musical theatre.
FM: Who’s your fashion icon and why?
HB: I don’t have one person whose style I look up to, but I do really love Rosie Huntington Whitely’s style. She always looks amazing.
FM: Who’s your favorite designer and why?
HB: I also don’t have one favorite designer, but of course I think Karl Lagerfeld is a genius, among many others.
FM: What’s the fashion trend that needs to go away?
HB: I think creepers have got to go.
FM: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
HB: To transport myself anywhere by snapping my fingers.
